Contact us for our 2016 Giro d'Italia Tour, or why not take a look at our other great tours through Northern Italy in 2015.

If you want to see some of the best parts of Italy, staying in the finest locations, riding some of our favourite routes including Passo Stelvio, Mortirolo, around the stunning Lakes District and classic Piedmont (and see lots of Giro action!), then don't think too hard!

"From the very beginning to the very end when we were escorted right to the check in counters, we were impressed by the professionalism and dedication shown. Nothing was too much trouble, we were not even allowed to pick up a bike or a suitcase. The accommodation and meals were a very high standard. No one was excluded. You made it all so easy. By the end of the holiday it felt like our group was just one big family. A special thank you your team, all so helpful and charming. So thank you again. We would not hesitate to recommend procyclingtours and we certainly hope to join you again before too long. All our good wishes"

What to expect from our 2015 Giro d'Italia Tour:

With an exciting Giro d’Italia race route announced, we’re thrilled to be able to showcase many of our favourite places through Northern Italy and for you to be immersed in ‘la dolce vita’!

You will have the opportunity to experience the excitement of the Giro racing action, live, up to 6 times, including on the mystical slopes of the Mortirolo, the beautiful lakes of Lugano and Maggiore, through the traditional and historic region of Piedmont and of course, the ‘Gran Finale’ of the Giro in Milan

As for the cycling, no stone has been left unturned, discovering the classic cycling routes of Northern Italy, highlighting some of our greatest rides, and as always, several daily ride options that cater for the super fit through to the weekend warrior. During this tour, we are also thrilled to include the Passo dello Stelvio, Italy’s highest pass and one of the worlds most iconic climbs that is sure to make a big ‘tick’ on your bucket list!

With so much to see and do off the bike, this tour is also about enjoying your time out of Lycra, relaxing on the shores of Italian Lakes, ambling through quaint, ancient villages, savouring classic delicious regional produce including superb 3 – 4 course dinners complete with hand picked regional wines. You will also enjoy premium accommodation set in perfect locations chosen to maximise the Giro access as well as quiet back roads. A sure highlight of our 2015 Giro tour will be our slumber in a breathtaking 12th Century Castello – a once in a lifetime experience, a luxurious welcoming, family run chalet, and finally in a wonderful Italian Villa.  We hope you enjoy our itinerary, and if you have any questions, please contact us and we’ll be more than happy to answer them.

Bring on May 2015!

You will be treated like a pro by the pros that's our difference

Your tour experience will be intimate and relaxed. Limiting our group size and using mini vans (not impersonal coaches) ensures that everyone in the group has their individual desires taken care of. We also prefer not to see the race every day, instead choosing to explore and ride around the surrounding areas at your own pace. This ensures that your holiday is exactly that, a holiday and NOT an endless line of early mornings, late dinners, daily hotel changes and transfers, as is experienced with some tour operators.

You will stay in superior accommodation; this will include Castello's, Alpine lodges, superior hotels etc. The best staff in the industry will pamper you as we have the highest guide to client ratio in the industry with 1 guide for every 3 to 4 guests; this will include the owners of procyclingtours, Steve & Michelle, for that extra level of service and attention to detail. Ample and delicious buffet breakfasts each morning, most dinners all of which are three course (or more) regional cuisine including wines and water and maybe even a scrumptious rustic Italian picnic lunch.

We will again be offering our high-end BMC road bikes for rent at a discounted price of $495. And through our exclusive relationship with SRM you can even choose to try out one of these incredible power training systems on your hire bike. If you want to secure a BMC at the time of your booking, please do so on the right hand side, for a $200 deposit.

You and your bike will be taken care on all transfers in our executive mini vans and custom built, professional bike racks. The racks are mounted on the roof of the vans to ensure your bike isn’t being bounced around in a trailer and rubbing against other bikes.  Our new vans are equipped with free WIFI, DVD players, portable showers, change rooms and a few other bonus comforts.

The riding what to expect

Each day comprises of different ride options of varying distances and abilities. Every ride is fully supported with mechanic, ride guide and full van support. You will be fuelled up on your ride with our on-board snacks, energy bars, gels, fruits and cold drinks.

We always encourage guests to ride at their own pace and we cater for varying abilities, from the super fit to the weekend warrior! Steve can also set you up with a training program, all inclusive, leading up to the tour, to make sure you are in the best condition possible when on tour. Also while on tour, for those interested, Steve is happy to provide technique advice to help you get the best out of your climbing, descending and so on.

We welcome non-riders

If you only want to ride a little or not at all, we embrace non riders - after all the Giro is an amazing experience for all. For those not riding, there will be time to explore pretty villages, enjoy the excitement of the race or simply enjoy the slow pleasures of a holiday – perhaps lazing by the pool and a long lunch.  Some days you will have your own chaperone and van to explore the region. Each year we have many returning non-riders and those who come along the first time always have their expectations exceeded  - our philosophy is its just as much their holiday as it is the riders.
