Tour de France 2015 - Pyrenees & Medieval France Tour

“I just wanted to send a quick message to say thank you for an amazing holiday. Congrats to you both on a great team of staff also. I was quite hesitant before going on the trip (as I had been on other tours before) but was absolutely blown away with the extra care & personal touches you both added to the trip to make it AMAZING !!”

2014 Tour de France Alsace to Alps,  Debbie, New Zealand

The ultimate Tour de France experience, this tour showcases the beautiful regions of the Pyrenees with it’s wonderful peaceful mountains, together with the Languedoc and it’s sleepy medieval villages.

Be treated like a pro by the pro’s, all while catching many exciting stages of Le Tour de France. Ride at your own pace with peace of mind knowing you are being supported every step of the way. Non-riders will enjoy exploring mountain passes, wandering through markets, museums and ancient villages.

Our 2015 Pyrenees to Medieval France Tour has been carefully designed to take in 4 of the most exciting stages of the race through this most stunning and unique French region, with other days spent taking in many of our favourite country roads, classic climbs and picturesque French villages. You’ll also spend time exploring the beautiful cities of Toulouse, Carcassonne and Lourdes, the heart of the Pyrenees.

Climbs we will conquer include (but not limited to) Col du Soulor, Aubisque, Hautacam and the king of them all, Col du Tourmalet! All the while enjoying being a part of the energetic and unique Tour de France action.

We hope you enjoy the read and please contact us if you have any questions whatsoever.

Vive la Tour!

You will be treated like a pro by the pros our difference

Your tour experience will be intimate and relaxed. Limiting our group size and using mini vans (not impersonal coaches) ensures that everyone in the group has their individual desires taken care of. We also won't be viewing the race every day, instead choosing to explore the surrounding areas at your own pace. This ensures that your holiday is exactly that, a holiday and NOT an endless line of early mornings, late dinners and daily hotel changes.

You will be staying in superior accommodation. This may include Chateaux, Chalets, superior hotels etc. The best staff in the industry will pamper you as we have THE  highest ratios in the industry with 1 guide for every 3 to 4 guests; this will include the owners of procyclingtours - for that extra level of service. Ample and delicious buffet breakfasts each morning, most dinners all of which are three course (or more) regional cuisine including wines and water and maybe even a scrumptious rustic French picnic lunch.

We will again be offering our high-end BMC road bikes for rent at a discounted price. Though our exclusive relationship with SRM you can even choose to try out one of these great training systems out on your hire bike.

You and your bike will be taken care on all transfers in our executive mini vans and custom built, professional bike racks. The racks are mounted on the roof of the vans to ensure your bike isn’t being bounced around in a trailor.  Our new vans are equipped with free WIFI, DVD players, portable showers, change rooms and a many other bonus comforts.

The riding what to expect

Each day comprises of a few ride options of varying distances and abilities. Every ride is fully supported with mechanic, experienced ride guide and full van support. You will be fuelled up on your ride with our on-board snacks, energy bars, gels, fruits and cold drinks.

For those wanting to get the most out of their riding, Steve is also more than happy to provide technique advice on any given day, Helping you improvie your descending skills, your climbing technique, general nutrition advice and so on. As an ex-pro and now operating a professional coaching business in Australia, you're time with Steve on the bike will be invaluable.

We encourage you to ride at your own pace and cater for all abilities from the super fit right through to the weekend warrior. We are able to offer this flexibility due to the high number of guides on tour as well as the use of mini vans.

We welcome non-riders

If you only want to ride a little or not at all, we embrace non riders - after all, the Tour de France is an amazing 'once in a lifetime' experience for all. For those non riding partners, there will be time to explore pretty villages, enjoy the excitement of the race or simply enjoy the slow pleasures of a holiday – perhaps lazing by the pool and a long lunch.  Some days you will have your own chaperone and van to explore the region. Each year we have many returning non-riders and those who come along the first time always have their expectations exceeded  - our philosophy is its just as much their holiday as it is the riders.
